Pubs in Downtown

Big northwest-style beer hall, lots on tap, good pub eats. Parking's a pain here, but there's also good public transport access.

One of Seattle's newest breweries and taprooms, opened and run by former Elysian brewer Steve Luke. Interesting and well-made range of ales and, yes, a pretty good Pilsner lager too.

Serving Pioneer Square area for more than a decade with good beer selection and good pub food.

Actually just north of downtown in the South Lake Union (Cascade) district, this sister to the Prost! bars follows a similar pattern: all-German beer selection, with booze and food, but here, the food comes from a full kitchen.

Cavernous big kids' playground with mini-golf, games, and plenty of Washington beers on tap, right down by Pioneer Square.

Seattle's branch of popular chain brewpub, specialized in German beer styles (lagers, weizens).

Nifty new Belltown gastropub, just a few minutes walk from the excellent TeKu Tavern. The tap selection and food menu here is first-rate, and No Anchor has rapidly gained an excellent reputation. Patio in front for outdoor drinking too.

Old Stove Brewing  Full menu available. WiFi available New entry in the Guide in 2016. Brewpub. Regularly has Seattle brewed beers

Popular newer brewpub in downtown Seattle, very nearby to Pike Place Market and a short walk away from the excellent Clouburst Brewing taproom. Super popular with everyone, locals and tourists alike, with wide range of house beers. Beers can be packaged in crowlers to take away, too.

A downtown Seattle destination pub and brewery since 1989. Big, rambling, spacious, a showplace for Pike Brewing's range of beers.

Rambling two-level pub focused on very local beers from Seattle and nearby. One of the few around that still will pour Redhook beers. Ideally located a short walk from the Pike Place Market, in the heart of touristland. Affiliated with Seattle brewery touring company Road Dog Tours.

Newer gastropub in Belltown. Smaller beer selection than some, but well-chosen.

Shiny new seafood-centric gastropub on main floor of Pike Place Market's South Arcade, directly upstairs from Pike's original brewery and pub. Open and spacious feel.

Big bar and restaurant in basement level. 160 taps.

TeKu Tavern  WiFi available New entry in the Guide in 2016.21 or older only. Regularly has Seattle brewed beers

So shiny, much new. Big, open, roomy Denny Regrade pub with a superb draft beer list, visible on big display screens behind the bar. No kitchen, so ordering in from nearby eateries is encouraged.

Old-school Seattle original, classic old-school tavern near Pike Place market features good pub food and local beers on tap.

Beer hall with sausages and French fries. Lots of different sausages. Lots of beer too, and the selection is usually pretty good. Too bad their web site is so relentlessly uninformative and useless. Note: location is actually more SLU than downtown.
